Pelosi: Trump and Putin are pals
Representative Nancy Pelosi criticized former President Donald Trump for his relationship with Vladimir Putin, describing it as “palsy-walsy.” During an interview on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Pelosi highlighted the importance of the situation in Ukraine, emphasizing that the focus on Ukraine has been overshadowed by other events, and stressed that the core of the issue is the preservation of democracy.
Pelosi expressed her relief that, after a long wait, the situation in Ukraine is finally being addressed. She praised the Ukrainian people and surrounding countries, especially NATO members, for their efforts in providing aid and support. However, she highlighted the fear and vulnerability of non-NATO countries to Russian propaganda.
Mitchell pointed out that Trump’s recent comments about withholding aid for Ukraine until Europe contributes more are unfounded, as Europe has already provided $54 billion in support. She emphasized that Ukraine needs weapons, air defenses, and ammunition, which Europe is unable to fully supply.
Pelosi criticized Trump’s stance on Ukraine, calling it “irresponsible” due to his close relationship with Putin. She argued that Trump’s comments demonstrate a lack of knowledge, values, and commitment to democracy.
